Decentralized Dynamic Control of a Multiaccess Broadcast Channel

چکیده
Absfrucf -Retransmission policies are presented for the decentralized control of a multiaccess packet-switched broadcast channel. The policies have a simple recurSiYe form yielding a Markov description of the system. Finite average delay is achieved for an infinite-population Poisson arrival model for any rate X < e ’ . It is proposed that the goal of retransmission policies should be to maintain the traffic intensiv at a nearly constant, optimum level. The policies we introduce achieve this goal by nearly decoupling the dynamics of the traffic intensity from the backlog fluctuations. Analysis and simulations show that the policies perform well, even when the channel feedback information is unreliable or incomplete.

Stochastic cooperative advertising in a manufacturer–retailer decentralized supply channel
This work considers cooperative advertising in a manufacturer–retailer supply chain. While the manufacturer is the Stackelberg leader, the retailer is the follower. Using Sethi model it models the dynamic effect of the manufacturer and retailer’s advertising efforts on sale. It uses optimal control technique and stochastic differential game theory to obtain the players’ advertising strategies a...
متن کاملPacket Switching in a Multiaccess Broadcast Channel: Performance Evaluation
In this paper, the rationale and some advantages for multiaccess broadcast packet communication using satellite and ground radio channels are discussed. A mathematical model is formulated for a “slotted ALOHA” random access system. Using this model, a theory is put forth which gives a coherent qualitative interpretation of the system stability behavior which leads to the definition of a stabili...
متن کاملDecentralized multiaccess MAC protocol for ad-hoc networks
In ad-hoc radio networks, mechanisms on how to access the radio channel are extremely important in order to improve network efficiency and, when needed, to guarantee QoS. Traditionally, Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols in ad hoc networks have been designed to face off the well known collision resolution problem. However, when using advanced signal processing techniques, general assumptions...
متن کاملAnalysis and Evaluation of a Decentralized Multiaccess MAC for Ad-hoc Networks
In mobile ad-hoc radio networks, terminals are mobile and heterogeneous, the architecture of the network is continuously changing, communication links are packet oriented and radio resources are scarce. Therefore, mechanisms on how to access the radio channel are extremely important in order to improve network efficiency and, when needed, to guarantee QoS. However, due to these network harsh co...
متن کاملAn Efficient Multiaccess Protocol for Wireless Networks
In this paper, we propose and evaluate an efficient multiaccess protocol for cell-based wireless networks. Our protocol addresses the problems in existing random-access protocols for wireless networks: long-term fairness as well as short-term fairness in accessing a shared channel and the detection of hidden and exposed collisions. Our proposed protocol is a limited contention protocol in which...
